first movie i bought with my money was a pokemon movie on vsh. maybe the 2000 one, can't remember. watched the hell out of it though.
Shawshank Redemption on DVD, and man I wore that thing out!!

Laserdisc: I missed that fad.
DVD: I was one of the first to try it in my town. I bought Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Armageddon and Lethal Weapon 4.

My first DVD purchase was The Matrix. I so much wanted to watch this one over and over. Still do. Watched it again two weeks ago ... LOL.
The first movie I ever bought was Dirty Dancing, for my wife. It was VHS that's how long ago that was. Wow really giving away my age here.
The first one I got was Beverly Hills Cop on VHS back in the day. It cost about $25.
Oh and my 1st VHS purchase was Terminator 2.

Not sure on vhs but first dvd was The Matrix. First Bluray...I think it was Invincible and Spider Man 3.
Cinderella, VHS and then the whole disney collection, until dvds came in then I had to start all over
Not the first but a highly anticipated VHS. Runaway Train with John Voight, Eric Roberts and Rebecca DeMornay. Great movie.
Played through what might be considered a 1st gen home theater system.
Two David Hafler DH500's, Vandersteen main speakers, subbox with two 15"s, JVC HiFi stereo VHS deck and a 27" Toshiba tv.
Was a sweet setup back in the day. May also be the reason I say "Whadjasay" a lot today.
